The Nutcracker: A Holiday Tradition...
As the holidays approach, it's a time to reflect upon and enjoy various holiday traditions. The Nutcracker, a holiday classic that has remained a tradition for many years, was recently performed by the American Repertory Ballet (ARB) in Princeton, NJ. President and Founder of Terpsichore Quest, Thomas Flagg, was recently interviewed by Karyn Collins, long time supporter of the arts and journalist, on the subject of American Repertory Ballet's future . “Doug has a really great game plan in place for lining up material that people will want to come and see,” says Thomas Flagg, who runs the Frenchtown arts-management firm Terpsichore Entertainment. “He understands that you have to balance the artistic goals with an understanding of how you’re going to bring people in. And his background in this community and with the Joffrey means he has an enormous amount of impressive resources to draw from.”

Some Nutcracker History...
The Nutcracker, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, was first performed in St. Petersburg on December 18, 1892. The ballet has enjoyed enormous popularity since the mid-20th century and is now performed by countless ballet companies, especially in the U.S. The Tchaikovsky score has become his most famous composition.
